Year – 2019 to 2021
I was the in-house only illustrator at Peakon and took care of all illustrations ever made between 2019 and 2021.
Peakon is a data-driven HR company that helps improve employee experience by allowing them to check in with their people leaders and give frequent feedback on changes happening in the company.
Apart from feeling great amount of purpose with my part in this awesome team, it's just been really fun having lots of creative freedom to design a brand that stands out.
After being handed the brand guidelines from Kontrapunkt, and found ourselves on our own, we set out to build a brand that is trustworthy, encouraging and humane.
The Peakon illustration style is simple, unpretentious and expressive. We work on the basis of ‘less is more’ and use plenty of white space to give a sense of depth. The illustration is the soul of the product, but we mean to bring the user onboard in order to see how much we can do with data.
Peakon's branding didn't stop at just the digital. The Copenhagen office has been painted in the brand colors; our typography is playful and speaks of our culture of being professionals, but not taking ourselves too seriously.
Illustration is an integral part of Peakon's brand, as seen at any occasion on our marketing platforms and across products.
In a bit over a year we made quite a lot of custom illustration. For our growth rate and goals we afforded to do so in order to showcase that we are hard-working and our heart is in everything we build.
Out of those, here are a few favorites.
Peakon has a wide range of customers and we want to reflect that in our visual language. Here is a selection of some of our user representation.
Our sense of fun extended to the product as well, and I had a hand in developing a set of emojis we could call our own.
The emojis are accompanying the scores people give in a survey, on a scale from 0 to 10.

Peakon's animation style is frame-by-frame. Although a laborious practice , we reserved them for large events and important report releases, to help them get noticed even more.

Peakon has a fair share of social media campaigns and posts. For the one below, we had to create a custom post to celebrate our new podcast guest, the CHCO from NASA, speaking about the importance of listening to employees' voice.
Sketching is 90% of the time the first step, and I love the challenge of simplifying the artistic process for all stakeholders involved to easily understand the concepts before the final result.
Illustration has also been used extensively across blog posts and data-heavy reports.
