Year – 2021 to 2023
Workday is a large HR company that has offices spanning across many continents. It's quite an interesting project to be designing illustration for a data-driven tech product that caters to admins, managers and employees altogether, and that stays true to the brand while being inclusive and culturally conscientious with its customers.
The biggest reward in working with vectors is the challenge to make the work stand out through the concept, since the medium is already very commonly used in this industry.
This was the first time I landed in an already established illustration team, with an existent library of full illustration scenes, characters, spots, icons. The below illustrations are made by using half parts from the library, and half net new vector work.
Workday has many customers and many events throughtout the year, large and small. Some are industry specific and some are inviting to all.
Workday uses photography, graphic design and illustration together or separately, depending on what the industry demographic is proved to pay attention to more. Eg. we learned to not use illustrations when we talk about finance.
Here are some of the ones where I created custom artwork for.
This event happens in Europe and US once a year. It's a gigantic event that needs preparation for at least 6 months and welcomes around 5k+ visitors.
For this event, I was tasked with designing a large illustration for the main entrance wow effect and several other walls. The print measures 6x2m.
Since the European event was hosted in Stockholm, I created an illustration that merges the letters R I S I N G with inventions, culinary arts, scenery, pop culture inspired from Swedish history.
One of the speakers at this event was Björn Ulvaeus and I really hope he liked the ABBA vinyl I added!
It's never easy measuring the impact of illustration in any field - taste is hugely subjective. I choose to measure the success of this 6X2 meters large illustration based on the posts that poured in during and after the event.
Here are some that I collected.
A smaller scale event that Workday organises every year is Elevate.
I created a bunch of illustrations for use in marketing promos, SoMe materials, etc.
Workday has been invited to this event to speak about employee engagement.
I helped create some of the slides of the presentation made by the amazing Caroline Arvidsson.
I'm so glad of where we got as a community in terms of diversity, equity and inclusion and holiday cards always keep my own biases in check when I have to create a card that will appeal to all (or most) employees and customers who lives all around the globe.
This year we went with the concept of peeking through the windows of a building, seeing 4 different families spending their time around the end of the year.
Workday has a wide range of customers and we want to reflect that in our visual language. Here is a selection of my favorite scenes.
Although Workday doesn't use much illustration in their products, we do spend time perfecting it up to brand standards when we do use it.

Peakon was acquired by Workday in 2021. Since then, the team worked on adapting the visual style to Workday's, and I am super proud of the result. Here are a selected few.

Illustration has also been used extensively across blog posts and data-heavy reports.
Every now and then we had that change to push the brand limitations a bit and create something a bit different.
One example is this custom ABM (Account-based marketing) piece we did for ECCO.
